With bathrooms that were sun-soaked, but in need of a bit of a pick-me-up, the two reached out to Homepolish designer Alice Cheng. We designed the layout ourselves by drawing up a few different scenarios for the shower, vanity, toilet and bath, and then deciding what we thought would work, and look, best. Transitional Black and White Bathroom Reveal was last modified: March 31st, 2017 by Cristy. The classic feel of the cabinet goes perfectly with the classic feeling of the floor tile and subway tile in the shower. A few Turkish Towels created some softness to all the black, and the lifeguard tower print and faux greenery added a bit of color to this side of the room.
Over the course of the year, the style and design of the bathroom changed slightly from the original plan This was somewhat due to my inability to make decisions (a constant battle for me!), somewhat due to sourcing challenges , and somewhat due to delays from vendors But even with all that, I can really say that I am so, so happy with how it all turned out in the end. A bright white bathroom gets a lift from the modern sink and oversized mirror.
If you're in the mood for color, don't be afraid to add it to the walls. While a monochromatic black and white bathroom is contemporary, it's also invigorating. For a cool and rejuvenating vibe, surround the tub with floor to ceiling tiles in shades of spearmint.
Black and white tile with hex and square tiles: Alexander White. We all want our bathrooms to be inviting spaces, ones we are happy to start and end our days in and perhaps an area we can escape from the world for a nice relaxing soak with a glass of wine.
